P.E.A.S. Rilya Alert

Rilya

Rilya is an innocent young girl who is missing, you would never have heard
of her if she hadn't been a child of the state. Rilya's media
coverage was based on DCF. NOT based on a beautiful child being missing.

The RILYA Alert system was created by the staff at Peas In Their Pods,
(Saving Our Children)along with the creator of the Amber Alert, to help spread
awareness about the fact that African American children account
for over 33% (some say it is now up to 42%)of all missing and abducted children.
However, they typically fail to receive adequate media coverage.
Although other alert systems exist, often times
African American children are not recognized.

The RILYA Alert system was created to help spread awareness about the
disproportionate amount of media attention that missing African American children receive.
This alert system will help to bridge this discrepancy by shortening
the response time in which the crucial information is shared with the public.

We thank you for helping us spread the awareness about this issue
because we believe that it’s everyone’s job to help save our children!

You may not know but since starting our organization,
50 children who were missing are now found.
Just a couple of months ago a child was found
and she had been missing since 1994.

OUR FEATURED STORY

Chicago police were asking for the public's help in finding a 15-year-old girl

who was reported missing Saturday from a neighborhood on the South Side.

Ashley Thompson, who was reported missing from the 5100 block of South Paulina Street,
is described as African-American with a dark complexion and black hair. She stands 5 foot 3 and weighs 118 pounds.
Anyone with information about Thompson's whereabouts should call the Wentworth Area special victims unit, 312-747-8385.

17 children have been recovered since we started our
organization. So we thank you!!!
