In the Midst of Next

So many times in life we ask for things. We look for promotions on our job, we look for a bigger homes, new cars. But how many times in life do we realize that, what is next to come doesn't always come in our time. When we get to a point in life when where we are is not where we want to be, and we become frustrated, and restless. We begin to want to quit or not just go on. We look to the left and to the right for someone to come with a word, or just something to keep us motivated, and encouraged. Well, what do you do when you cant find that person, or you don't get that word of encouragement from the ones who seem to always be there when you need them to be? In 1 Samuel 30:6, David had to encourage himself. There are going to be times in our lives when we wont have someone to speak on our behalf, or to give us the word to help us move forward.

When I was a child, I was an only child. I spent 11 1/2 years as the only kid in the house. I didn't have no one to play with all the time, and there were times I had to play by myself. I used what I had to get through the times my friends couldn't come out and play. What am I saying here, when you find yourself in a situation where its just you, no one else, even if there is a room full of people but yet and still you feel you are all alone. Reach down deep inside, and pull up a word. Remember that our trials and tribulations are only temporary, and just for a season. In the process of going to next, get what you need to get, and learn where you are. Because when you get to next you are going to need what you learned from before to get you to the next again. I was talking to a minister from my church, and he was telling me to take my time in my "next", because your next, prepares you for NEXT. We don't reach the ultimate completion until we are face to face with our Father.

Our lives are a constant growth process. We grow and move on, some of us, grow and stay in the same place because we get comfortable. Then we complain because nothing is happening or changing in our lives, and we feel we are going through the same old thing day in and day out. Well if we never grow, how do we expect to learn something new, and experience new things. Moving on is nothing to be scared about, we should look forward to new challenges, and new experiences. A few years ago, I ran into a guy I knew from my old neighborhood, and we began to talk about what was going on in our lives. I told him that I had been away and was in the Navy, I told him about the places I been and what all I got the chance to see. Then I asked him, what had he been up to, he said that "Nothing has changed, me and the other guy I knew, were still doing the same old thing". How long can we continue living doing the same old thing? When do we get tired of living the same old life........

Life is so full of surprises, and we have to be ready for what life has to come. So many people make excuses for where they are in their lives, and some just have no explanation. But yet are upset and jealous when they see others that they have grown up with succeed. If you have a job, and everyday you are calling off, or just not performing up to your ability, you wont have a job for long. Don't get mad when you see the person who is performing above and beyond their ability get the promotion. Life is too short to hate on the next person. Depression comes and goes, but we have to understand that we need to take the good with the bad (Romans 8:28) "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."

We are at a point in time right now, that we have to keep pushing forward, we have to keep our heads up. People are looking for jobs, looking for where their next meal is coming from, asking the question, what's next, what else is going to happen to me, and the famous question....why me Lord? Job, Abraham, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and many more people were tired, some lost everything, some where tried by fire, laughed at, talked about, lied on, deceived.....But yet and still became powerful witness for God in their lives. So what about us? Are we more worried about what people may say if they see you living, not walking with your head down, not walking in depression, but walking in the blessings. The rain will come, and there will be some cloudy days, but in the midst of the rain, it helps us enjoy the sunshine.

Be blessed, and remember, where you are now, is just preparing you for NEXT!
